Delete Your ChoreFire Account
You can delete your ChoreFire account, and the personal data we hold about it, from inside the app.
How to delete your account
- Sign in to ChoreFire and open Settings.
- Select the edit icon beside your name, then Delete account.
- Enter your password and confirm.
Your account is deleted when you confirm. This cannot be undone.
Two things have to be done first. The app tells you if either applies to you:
- If you own a household, delete it: Settings, Household Settings, Household Details, Delete household. This deletes the household and its chore data for everyone in it.
- If you have a subscription or a free trial, cancel it: Settings, Subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel it. If a payment has failed, the subscription cannot be cancelled until you update your billing details there, with Manage Billing.
If you cannot sign in, email hello@chorefire.com with the subject Delete my account. A person will reply, check that the request is really yours, and work through it with you.
What is deleted
Your account and the personal data on it: your name, your email address, your password, and your membership of any household.
If you delete a household you own, its helpers, its chores and its chore history are deleted with it.
What is kept, and for how long
- Encrypted backups, for up to 3 months.
- Chore data belonging to a household you shared with other people. That household’s data is deleted 90 days after it loses its subscription.
- Records we are required by law to keep, such as billing and tax records, for up to 8 years.
Our Privacy Notice covers your data rights in full.
